ANC 6B Special Call Meeting on Tues., June 30

NOTICE: Advisory Neighborhood Commission 6B will hold a special call meeting on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 to consider whether the commission should accept the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board’s requested modifications to ANC 6B-approved Settlement Agreements pertaining to the liquor store license renewals of:

  • World Wine and Spirits
  • Capitol Hill Wine & Spirits
  • Gandel’s Liquors
  • Albert’s Liquors
  • Congressional Liquor
  • Chat’s Liquors
  • S&J Liquors, and
  • the Settlement Agreement covering a substantial change/stipulated license for Belga Cafe.

The meeting will be at 6:30 pm at the Hill Center (921 Pennsylvania Ave. SE) and will immediately precede the previously scheduled ANC 6B Executive Committee meeting at 7 pm. Consideration of these specific ABC Board-requested modifications will be the only items on the agenda.

Hill East Task Force to Meet June 25

NOTICE: Advisory Neighborhood Commission 6B’s Hill East Task Force will meet Thursday, June 25, 6:30-8pm in the cafeteria at St. Coletta of Greater Washington, 1901 Independence Avenue SE.

First on the agenda will be Ward 6 Councilmember Charles Allen, who will provide any community updates and take questions from both task force members and meeting attendees.

In addition, officials from the DC Department of Health and Human Services will discuss the DC General Homeless Shelter, including an update on the plan to replace the shelter and close DC General. Participating in the meeting will be Brenda Donald, Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services and Laura Zeilinger, Director of the Department of Human Services.

ANC 6B Special Call Meeting on Tuesday, June 16

NOTICE: Advisory Neighborhood Commission 6B will hold a special call meeting on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 to consider whether the commission should accept the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board’s modification to ANC 6B’s June 10, 2015 Settlement Agreement with Elaine’s One (715 8th Street SE). The meeting will be from 6:30pm to 6:45 pm at the Hill Center (921 Pennsylvania Ave. SE) and will immediately precede the previously scheduled ANC 6B Planning & Zoning PUD Subcommittee meeting at 7 pm. The meeting agenda is as follows:

Additional Information
At its meeting of June 10, 2015, the ABC Board reviewed the Settlement Agreement (pdf) between ANC 6B and Elaine’s One, LLC at 715 8th Street, SE,  License No. 098700. The Agreement was approved with modification to modify the following provision:

  1. Clause 2, the second sentence shall be amended to read: “The Applicant currently seeks a total seating of 65 patrons, inclusive of the sidewalk café seating.” Rationale: The Board cannot enforce a provision granting the ANC approval or agreement privileges for substantial changes sought by the Licensee.
