Special Election for ANC 6B09: Petitions Now Available

The DC Board of Elections (BOE) has certified that Advisory Neighborhood Commission 6B’s 6B09 seat (previously held by Brian Flahaven) is vacant.  There will, therefore, be a special election to fill the seat for the remainder of the current term.

All those interested in running for this seat must circulate a nominating petition during the period Tuesday, January 19, 2016 through Monday, February 8, 2016.  The petition challenge period will run from Thursday, February 11, 2016 through Thursday, February 18, 2016.  Once nominating petitions are verified, ANC 6B will hold the special election at its monthly meeting, probably on Tuesday, March 8, 2016.  In any case, the seat must be filled by April 14, 2016.

Candidates for 6B09 or their representatives may pick up nominating petitions at the BOE office, 441 4th Street, NW, Room 250N.  For information, call 727-2525.
